About UHMW PE Pads for Marine Rubber Fender

 

UHMWPE marine fender boards are made from UHMWPE Sheet by cut-to-size and CNC machine processing. They embody all the characteristics of UHMWPE sheet, but with better size and technology requirements meeting your requirement. UHMWPE sheet has a super strong impact strength and low friction, no rot and splinter. Its strong, UV and Moist resistance make it to be ideal plastic which is used as dock marine fender.

Fender boards distribute reaction forces to provide low hull pressures and cope with large tidal variations. UHMW PE as the best material for heavy duty impact protection by impact resistant and very low in friction. The UHMW marine fender boards allow vessels to move smoothly past a fender system.

Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE, UHMW, PE1000) is a subset of the thermoplastic polyethylene. Also known as high-molecular weight polyethylene, (HMWPE, PE500), it has extremely long chains, with a molecular mass usually between 3.5 and 7.5 million amu. The longer chain serves to transfer load more effectively to the polymer backbone by strengthening intermolecular interactions. This results in a very tough material, with the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic presently made. UHMWPE (PE1000) is odorless, tasteless, and nontoxic. It embodies all the characteristics of high-density polyethylene (HDPE, PE300) with the added traits of being resistant to concentrated acids and alkalis, as well as numerous organic solvents. It is highly resistant to corrosive chemicals; has extremely low moisture absorption and a very low coefficient of friction; is self-lubricating (see boundary lubrication); and is highly resistant to abrasion, in some forms being 15 times more resistant to abrasion than carbon steel. Its coefficient of friction is significantly lower than that of nylon and is comparable to that of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, Teflon), but UHMWPE has better abrasion resistance than PTFE.

 

 

HMWPE (PE500) and UHMWPE (PE1000) plates as compared to HDPE (PE300) have significantly better performance in terms of:
